Founded in 1995 in as Autonomous Body for the program of World Health Organisation (WHO), which is registered under Non-Profit Organisation (Society Act XXI of 1860), having its registered office in New Delhi, India. AICPT is an Intellectual Property (class 41) under Min. of Commerce, Govt.of India.  All India Council of Physical Therapy (AICPT) is a voice for physical therapy persons with laws & rights under Constitution of India.

AICPT believes that every individual is entitled to the highest possible standard of culturally appropriate healthcare delivered in an atmosphere of trust and respect for human dignity and underpinned by sound clinical reasoning and scientific evidence. It is committed to furthering the physical therapy profession and improving global health through:

• encouraging high standards of physical therapy research, education and practice
• supporting the exchange of information between AICPT regions and members
• collaborating with national and international Organisations
• Collaborating with UGC for promote the education of Physical Therapy in educational institution in India and Abroad.

AICPT celebrate and campaigns the World Physical Therapy Day every year for the promotion of the role of physical therapist for rehabilitation in society.
